WOW, what a great night @ Fat Cats in Hanley!
Lee has done a fantastic job with the venue hiring in a 25K Turbosound rig, that literally blew the place apart, and some excellent decor for the DJ backdrop. Matt Erst warmed up with some funky numbers as the place started filling up.
Really great clientele who were well up for it dancing all night. No hassle whatsoever, just like Anthemia
The Leek posse were out in full effect! Big BIG respect to them, as the altitude difference at the top of Ladderedge is enough to bring on a nose bleed… hehe
I played quite a mixture of vocal, funky, pumping, CLASSICS from back in the day.
Crowd pleasers on the night were ‘Aint No Man’, ‘We are Family’ (Sure is Pure of course – High5 Kelvin and Danny), ‘Lost’, ‘Convert’, ‘M-Baby’… there were too many to mention \O/
Lots of stories of aching/sore feet, HAPPY DAYZ!
Looking forward to doing another one with Lee in the future….

We’ve all been busy over summer gigging all over Europe.
ChrissyB has been on tour with the Shaolin Warriors and the Chinese Circus.
Nick Sheldon headlined for FashionTV in Portugal, Dj’d for a huge charity event in Liverpool with Marshall Jefferson, Ce Ce Rogers, and Scarlet Fantastic, and has also been at the Quiet Woman with ‘Give The DJ A Break’
D’Borah has been busy with the highly successful ‘Supper Club’ (Ladies Unlimited).

Situated atop of the beach cliffs. the Breeze bar encapsulates everything cool and chic with expensive decor and the most opulent of sunset views. Every evening, the ‘Breezers’ (Breeze residents) ‘Romeu Silvas & David Seita welcome the sunset with the rhythmic and melodic beat of the best upfront deep house that fits perfectly with the ambience of the Algarve.

James, the owner of the Breeze bar has created the perfect venue, that exudes class, and is recognised by worldwide celebrities as a safe haven where they can sit down for a meal, have a drink, dance and be themselves safe in the knowledge that they won’t be accosted on their holiday.

The FashionTV opening party was a great success with over six hundred participants partaking in meals, drinks, massages, and dancing. Nick Sheldon took off where Romeu and David had left it with a deep house ensemble gradually rising to an oldskool set of funky vocal tunes that had the party dancing the night away. Three quarters of the night in and we had a sudden rainshower which didn’t dampen anyones spirits and the dancers kept on dancing. The venue looked and sounded amazing, the models were stunning, and everyone had an amazing night. I present to you a night of Eclectic music with a twist.
YOU are in control of the DJ.
Think back to your childhood, think back to moments in time, think back to treasured memories, and think back to the events that moved you and most of all think back to the MUSIC that encompassed these times.
…This event is all about MUSIC in its purest form., be it pop, rock, classical, hip-hop, dance, opera, soul, bluegrass, movie themes, chill-out, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, ANY year, ANY music, ANYTHING GOES!!
It’s not about making people dance, it’s what music moves you. It’s not about catering to everybody else. It is all about you.
What you need to do:
Think of YOUR favourite THREE pieces of music… Easy isn’t it?? Nope, thought not. When you start thinking and delving into the furthest reaches of your mind you can think of loads.
Pick your favourite THREE and then expand it to up to SIX, this is to ensure that we don’t get any music played twice.
You can bring your music on vinyl, cd or mp3. The mp3’s can be on any device you want as long as it’s got a standard headphone jack. If it has a special connector, be sure to bring it with you. Come up to me with your play-list and I’ll play it out loud.
The event starts at 21:30, be sure to turn up early to secure your place.
I am not going to give you examples of what to pick, I don’t want to influence your judgment. It’s all up to you.

Well, I have just the tonic. Next Friday (May 20th) Nick Sheldon will be setting up the decks and playing a load of quality vocal and funky house down in the cellar bar of the Silken Strand. I will be creating the same ambience/mood as the I used to do in Minstrels back in the very early 90s.

The Silken Strand really is unique with it’s decor/layout, and I’m excited about digging out the right vinyl mood for the evening.

I will be playing from 20:30 – 23:00 and would love you all to join me for the duration.
